Following the success of the 2025 lecture series focused on AI applications in medicine and healthcare, the "Smart Future" series returns in 2026 with an expanded scope. The second session is AI in Finance: Identifying Investable Signals in a Fast-Moving Commodity Market.

First session of the " AI applications in medicine and healthcare"

Following the successful hosting of the 2025 lecture series themed around AI applications in medicine and healthcare, the "Smart Future" lecture series will continue in 2026. The content will be further expanded to focus on practical AI applications across more professional fields and their impact on society and individual development.

Over the past year, "Smart Future: AI Empowerment" centered on AI applications in medical diagnosis, clinical workflow optimization, and drug discovery. Invited experts from academia and industry shared their insights, receiving positive feedback from professionals and the public alike. Building on this foundation, the new 2026 season will transcend a single-industry perspective to systematically explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping financial markets, education systems, career development, and policy governance.

The planned 2026 lecture series will revolve around six major themes, including: trends and emerging opportunities in AI development, AI-assisted programming and data processing, AI applications in quantitative trading and financial markets, education and talent cultivation in the AI era, AI policy and global governance, and work patterns and human value in the context of AI. These themes are directed at professionals, entrepreneurs, educators, and relevant practitioners, aiming to foster rational, in-depth, and practically significant discussions.

The series organizers state that "Smart Future" is not merely about showcasing technical progress, but hopes to help professionals better understand how artificial intelligence changes decision-making methods, improves production efficiency, and redefines learning and career development paths through cross-disciplinary exchange.

The first forum of the 2026 "Smart Future" series will focus on AI applications in financial markets. The opening event is titled: Smart Future: AI Applications in the Financial Sector — Identifying Investable Signals in the Rapidly Changing Commodities Market. (See poster for details).

Second session of the "AI in Finance: Identifying Investable Signals in a Fast-Moving Commodity Market"

The second session of the "Future Intelligence: AI Empowerment Forum" was recently convened online to great success. Centered on the theme "AI in Finance: Identifying Investable Signals in a Fast-Moving Commodity Market," the event drew a significant audience of professionals from the financial, technological, and research sectors, fostering a dynamic and high-level exchange of ideas.

The forum was moderated by Dr. Victor Wang, AI Explorer and Co-founder of Entagile LLC. This session officially marks the commencement of the second phase of the "Future Intelligence" series. While the inaugural phase successfully delivered six specialized seminars focused on AI applications within Healthcare and Life Sciences, this second phase expands its strategic horizon into broader professional disciplines, aiming to empower industry experts to effectively navigate and lead in an AI-driven global landscape.

The event featured two distinguished keynote speakers: Dr. Amir Azar, a leading expert in energy finance and quantitative trading, and Kevin Hou, a senior corporate executive with profound expertise in the integration of AI within the financial sector.

The forum featured 30 minutes of keynote presentations followed by an intensive 60-minute Q&A and discussion session, reflecting the high level of engagement and interest from the audience. The inquiries were both broad and rigorous, spanning topics such as data sourcing, model interpretability, mitigating overfitting, performance stability across varying market environments, and the scalability of these methodologies to equities and other asset classes.

Technical Insights from Industry Experts Dr. Azar opened the session by outlining the fundamental structure of global commodity markets. He focused on the intricate relationship between physical commodities and the futures/derivatives markets, noting that commodities like crude oil—with their clear fundamental constraints—are particularly well-suited for systematic AI analysis.

Following this, Kevin Hou provided a detailed walkthrough of an end-to-end AI trading system. This comprehensive framework integrates data acquisition, model selection, interpretability analysis, automated execution, and risk management. He emphasized that the system’s primary objective is identifying short-term "mispricing" opportunities rather than predicting absolute price movements.

The Human-AI Synergy in Trading Drawing from their extensive field experience, the speakers concluded that AI must be rooted in human domain expertise. They highlighted three core advantages of AI systems: superior analytical precision and speed compared to humans, and a more objective, emotionless decision-making process. The speakers also shared empirical results from their AI trading system, which has operated stably for over two years across diverse market conditions, consistently delivering double-digit returns.

The forum received high praise from attendees, with one participant describing it as "a rare, high-quality discussion that offers a systematic and transparent look into live-market AI trading methodologies."

Future Roadmap and Strategic Vision During the event, Dr. Victor Wang unveiled the upcoming themes for the "Future Intelligence: Navigating an AI-Driven World" series for the remainder of the year. Future topics will include:

  • AI in Personal Finance and Wealth Management

  • Career Development and Professional Growth in an AI-Driven Era

  • AI and Human Meaning: Work, Purpose, and Life in a Post-AGI World

  • AI Policy, Ethics, and Global Governance

  • AI Trends, Forecasts, and Emerging Opportunities

The organizers welcome community involvement and encourage suggestions for future topics and guest speakers. Inquiries can be directed to victor@entagile.com.
